This Museum engages in comprehensive activities as a special museum of
photography including collection, exhibition, preservation, research and
popularization.
The Museum offers workshop and other participation projects to support creative
activities and provides domestic and foreign photographers as well as other people with
cultural or social interchanges to a vast extent.
The Museum assists in creative spirits to challenge the frontier of photographic
expressions and offers facilities for the scout of creators of promising future and
their activities.
The "Graphic Creation Pavilion" is annexed, where the visitors can experience the
exhibition of history of the graphic arts and culture as well as the graphic
expressions in the van of the era.

Exhibition: Special Exhibition, Permanent Exhibition, Exhibition by the
Graphic Creation Pavilion
Popularization: Tokyo International Photography Biennial, lecture meetings,
workshop, gallery orienteering and training of research fellows.
Publishing: Preparation of catalogue and research proceedings.
Public Relations: Issuance of Museum News, Outline, Annual Report, leaflet,
etc.
Collection: Collection and preservation of works, materials and devices
of photography and graphics.
Provision of information related to the works collected by the Museum.
Research on Preservation Science: Research on the preservation and
restoration of works and materials.
Library: Offering of books and materials for public perusal, and
provision of information.
Print Study Room: Offering for public perusal of print works collected by the
Museum.

To collect mainly original prints as well as a wide range of materials which are necessary to understand the photographic
culture.
