WAS HOKKAIDO AN UNEXPLORED LAND?

Speaking conclusively, yes, Hokkaido was an unexplored land. Frightened by bears and foxes, worrying about our food supply. A carefree tour is probably not so bad! However we do like the rough and ready.
Please forgive me for the late report. Also the slightly meagre contents. The contents are made up of photos with captions. However the difficulty of writing reports actually being there with the days fatigue catching up with us, was more difficult than we thought. And because of this, some staff seemed to be dropping out...
However we enjoyed the unknown land of Hokkaido to the full. In the beauty where before we knew it, we had forgotten to take photos and where people meet animals!
I not only want to keep these scenes as they are in our hearts, but also just as they are in real life.

This time we used a lot of materials. Unfortunately due to an accident, the small scale GPS was unoperational but our sense made up for the VDF which was purified from household cooking oil. It ran out part way so we changed it with light oil and both seemed to be fine. Although there was an uneasiness that said bears are attracted to the smell of car exhaust fumes but having a car was a bonus.

I lived previously in Tokatchi Plateau in Nakasatsunai Mura, in a far stretching land. The population was 4,000. At that time, the closest convenience store(in the wide belt) was at least 30 km away. So I was very surprised when I went this time!! I've heard that for every 2,000 people they build 1 convenience store, but in that spread out land there was 2! However they are the normal shop style. The shop in Tokatchi doesn't even have a double entrance (where there is warm air at the entrance) which most would take for granted...and they last through the winter!!?? The reporters noticed this too.

Hoping to go back one day to this land, the Author, with the Northern land in the background.
